War for Ratings is Hazardous for our Minds

As the TV ratings are suffering a "erosion" due the Internet and computer interactive games, the television networks, (some of them, not all), are doing the impossible to keep their ratings on the average. I can't waste my time talking about E!; MTV, because some programming is damaging our teenagers sexual orientation, these channels are block in my home cable system.
Also some action channels that content is focus to violence and excessive crime, are not recommended. In Italy people wait for commercials because is the funniest part of the TV Programming.
In Japan you see the promotions on the back of cashiers machines of a 7Eleven, and people is more dedicated to read; in Chile South America the Catholic Church has a strong influence on regulations about content on Open Broadcast TV. But at the end of the surfing channels process we are discovering that people prefer watch a good movie, without interruptions and do it by renting a DVD or pay per view, or kids look for crazy stuff on YouTube.
Like a medication TV can be good, in moderate and measure dose, but in excess is could damage the young audience minds.

NEWS CHANNELS DO NOT LOOK FOR INFORMATION THEY LIKE MANIPULATION
The perfect example are CNN and FOX, they already narcotized the audience as Marshall McLuhan's theory mention.
The war for the ratings become beyond objective journalism. Now Americans have CNN for Democrats and FOX for Republicans, even both of the networks try to be "NEUTRAL" is hard to consider that way when you seen Lou Dobs using plenty of adjectives to attack immigrants on his series Broken Borders, when the best market for TNT and Cartoon Network Latin America are, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Ironic but Fox is following exactly the same example of Turner Broadcasting, expanding their distribution of their 30 channels (Fox Latino and LAPTV) along Latin American countries. I am sure part of the salary of Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck, is coming from that revenue.
The largest income of both networks CNN and FOX is from Infomercials.

CNN is fair in some aspects of their coverage, for example in the human aspects of the Iraq war, the language is detailed, objective and equal to the circumstances.

FOX show up their "fair and balance" but lately their anchors do not question about the medical reform, they do an open confrontation with the people they interview. In some times they mix passion and adjectives and that is beyond the principles of the journalism.
If you watch FOX you do not feel informed you feel like if you attend a meeting for conservatives and for those ones who like to support monopolies. If you watch CNN you feel you are attending a town meeting for liberals. None of the networks cover the perspectives that the audience is waiting for. I felt some frustration when in my vacations in Tokyo I watched BBC News and they cover American stories and world news more accurate. I have a teenager, and he is tired of the narcotized of news segments in mostly all TV and Radio media; he doesn't like to watch any of the news networks, he tells me: "dad if I need to know something I open NYT in my I Phone, I read it in 5 minutes and I do not need to stink my news 1 hour".

I'm not judging TV without elements as you see in my page above I was one of the first employees of Turner Broadcasting Network, at 1989 when Ted Turner buy the MGM Library colorized and under the Direction of Scott Saza and Charlotte Leonard, Launched TNT Latin America, and years later Cartoon Network.
The point here is highlight that currently and for years Public Broadcasting has a best content than many of the mayor stream media. Why??? well Public Broadcasting live of contributions of people like you and other networks sell ads and sell any minute any word, any concept, any image with product placement, without care if you like it or not.
The idea is send you to the stores to consume and expend more money every day. Is understandable that news are like the money, they never sleep.
Television is more focus to the graphic content and they do not care about the audio they believe that covering with "bip" sound bites or pixing the inappropriate images they can air everything using the excuse of the first amendment of freedom of speech. But if our kids are gaining pounds, they have low grades and they do not like to do work out, and every day expend more hours on the TV monitor or playing games, thank to the TOXIC TELEVISION, IT IS addictive, dangerous and is diminishing the passion for read books, moral values, and good manners. Probably many of you will said I am crazy but if you can not educate your children under the 10 Commandments look the generation educated by the TV comedians and clowns.
I have to recognize there are good things I like of some anchors and commentators, like the Judge Andrew Napolitano for his assertive language; Neil Boorts for his brave tonge to said every thing as he see from his own perspective; Dave Ramsey for lead people to be conservative about their own expenses; Cavuto for me is the best financial analyst.
But I am a father and I see the example with my kid and his friends they do not care about news, they like Sports on ESPN and Versus or the crazy programming of MTV, E! and it is why I been motivated to write this Blog in English and Spanish, to try to rescue some parents frustrated with the hazardous TV Programming.
Honestly some TV Channels broadcast a lot of manipulative content, there is a lot of interest behind some programming, TV Stations air a lot of barter programming, (barter means that TV station do not have to pay for a program or a movie because it has commercial placements in the content), so you do not have to pay cable, it should be the opposite, Cable Companies and TV stations most pay you to you allow them be viewed by your family in your home.
I bee working on TV since 1988 and every day there is less content and more manipulation.
